Alexa Still – Alexa studied in New York (SUNY Stony Brook), won competitions including the New York Flute Club Young Artist Competition, and, East and West Artists Competition and then returned home as principal flute of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra at the age of 23. Other awards include a Churchill Fellowship and a Fulbright. She eventually left the NZSO to devote more time to solo engagements and teaching, based first at the University of Colorado at Boulder, then the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and now at Oberlin Conservatory, USA. When her flute is in its case, Alexa is an avid motorcyclist, and she shares a daughter and two dogs with her husband.
Amelie Brodeur –
Co-Creator of The Flute Channel on YouTube, Amelie is a virtuoso flutist who has played concerts in London, Edinburgh, Dublin, New York, Boston just to name a few. Shes is part of the Luft Ensemble – an eclectic flute and harp duo – as well as ECOUTER – a multi-instrumental trio- that has toured Europe and co-commissioned 7 new chamber film music pieces over the past 2 years. She’s co-artistic director of Concerts Kaleidoscope a music series set in a private bar in the Plateau of Montreal. She is also principle Flutist of Orchestra 21, Quebec’s only contemporary full-sized modern orchestra.
